Summer Camps View Basket

 

Does your child or teen LOVE to cook?  Our summer camps are tons of fun for budding young cooks who are ready to get out and have a good time in the kitchen.

We focus on kitchen safety, learning to use kitchen equipment properly, and of course, how to make some great food!  We encourage participants to try everything we make and also have the kids lend a hand with clean-up so that they learn good kitchen habits.  A memorable and fun time is had by all.

Bake-a-Rama:  This camp focuses on baking and the tips and techniques to get your child baking up a storm.  Each day we’ll focus on something new, including Cookies, Cakes, Pretzels & Breads, Savory Treats and more!

Cook Like a Celebrity Chef:  Kids and teens love the cooking shows!  This week we’ll not only prepare foods from some of your kid’s favorite tv cooking star’s cookbooks, but we’ll finish off the week by having a mock taping our own version of a cooking show.  Lights, camera, let’s get cooking!  New Session added July 27-31!

Culinary Techniques:  This camp, for teens only, focuses on learning solid culinary technique.  We will spend each day building on the skills learned the previous day.  We’ll start with knife skills, then work our way into learning to sauté, then braise.  We’ll also spend a day learning basic baking and finish off the week with a Kitchen Studio Iron Chef-style competition.

Cross-Country Tour:  Join us as we trek across country, at least through our bellies!  Each day we’ll explore the foods from a different region of the country, including New York, New Orleans, Chicago, New Mexico, & California.

Advanced Techniques for Teen Chefs:  Want to learn how to make a roux? Make your own pasta?  Figure out what a hollandaise is and how to make one?  This camp is for you!  Created especially for teens (ages 12 and older) with some experience in the kitchen, this camp will sharpen skills and teach new ones.

Mediterranean Cooking:  The summer is a wonderful time to cook regional foods of the Mediterranean coast, including foods from Italy (2 days), France, Spain, and Greece.

Registration: Please visit our Class Calendar page to register.  Please register by clicking on the Monday session.  All camps are limited to 10 participants and include one chef/instructor and one Kitchen Assistant.  You can also call at 301-663-6442 to register by phone.  All camps are filled on a first come, first served basis.   All camps require a minimum of 6 campers. Camps may be cancelled due to underenrollment.  In the event a camp is cancelled, a full refund will be issued.

Cancellation Policy:  All cancellations must be made at least one calendar month before the first day of your child’s camp.  NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.  No refunds, credits, or camp rescheduling will be allowed for cancellations made after this time.  Cancellations made at least one month prior to the camp will be refunded minus a 50% cancellation fee.
