Does your child or teen LOVE to cook?  Our summer camps are tons of fun for budding young cooks who are ready to get out and have a good time in the kitchen. Camps are available for teens and tweens, ages 6-8, 8-11, and 12-17.

We focus on kitchen safety, learning to use kitchen equipment properly, and of course, how to make some great food!  We encourage participants to try everything we make and also have the kids lend a hand with clean-up so that they learn good kitchen habits.  A memorable and fun time is had by all.

Cook Like a Celebrity Chef: Kids and teens love the cooking shows! This week we’ll not only prepare foods from some of your kid’s new favorite tv cooking star’s cookbooks, but we’ll finish off the week by having a mock taping our own version of a cooking show. Lights, camera, let’s get cooking!

That’s Italian!: Everyone loves foods from Italy. This week, your child will learn a wide variety of Italian dishes, and we’re not just talking red sauce here! From making our own fresh pasta to lasagnas, roasted chicken and oh, those fabulous desserts!

Farm Fresh Cooking: Frederick County is a rich agricultural community and summer is the perfect time to cook with foods produced locally. We’ll use fresh, seasonal produce and whip up delicious meals daily.

World Culinary Tour: We’ll take a trip around the world, but you can leave the passports at home! Each day we’ll focus on the foods from different countries, including Germany, Italy, Mexico, Thailand, and Morocco.

Bake-a-Rama: This camp focuses on baking and the tips and techniques to get your child baking up a storm. Each day we’ll focus on something new, including sweets and savories.  Plus, brand new this year, we’ll be working with fondant and create a cake to take home, Ace-of-Cakes style! Iron Chef/Culinary Techniques: This camp, for teens only, focuses on learning solid culinary technique. We will spend each day building on the skills learned the previous day. We’ll start with knife skills, then work our way into learning to sauté, then braise. We’ll also spend a day learning basic baking and finish off the week with a Kitchen Studio Iron Chef-style competition. Kid's Cooking Adventure: Let's take cooking and break it down to the basics. We'll make the food kids love, only better! With a dash of baking, and a pinch of starting knife skills, your child will develop kitchen confidence and skills to help with family dinners at home.

Advanced Techniques for Teen Chefs: Want to learn how to roll your own sushi? Make your own ravioli & mozzarella cheese? Make delicate (and oh so popular) macarons? Figure out what a hollandaise is and how to make one? This camp is for you! Created especially for teens (ages 12 and older) with some experience in the kitchen, this camp will sharpen skills and teach new ones.

Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner: This 3-day mini camp gets the little guys cooking great food that they can recreate at home. Each day we'll prepare a meal focused on a different time of day. Yummy!

 

Registration: Please visit our Class Calendar page to register. Please register by clicking on the Monday session. All camps are limited to 10 participants and include one chef/instructor and one Kitchen Assistant. You can also call at 301-663-6442 to register by phone. All camps are filled on a first come, first served basis and require a minimum of 6 campers. Camps may be cancelled due to under-enrollment. In the event a camp is cancelled, a full refund will be issued.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be made at least one calendar month before the first day of your child’s camp. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. No refunds, credits, or camp rescheduling will be allowed for cancellations made after this time. Cancellations made at least one month prior to the camp will be refunded minus a 50% cancellation fee.
